What we do
Project 802 (Pty) Limited provides technology products and services to companies across Southern Africa. Our focus is on procurement and delivery of any commercially available technology product or service.
We recruit, develop and grow our own specialist technical resources to deliver advice and professional services to clients. Where we lack specialist expertise we lean on our extensive ecosystem of strategic partners for help.
Project 802 is a Majority Black Female Owned, BBBEE Level 2 company.
Where we come from
We are often asked about the origin of our name, Project 802 CC was founded 20+ years ago as an importer of computer networking components.
At the time IEEE 802.3 (Ethernet) and 802.5 (Token Ring) standards were competing for market dominance. The international standards body responsible for these standards was the IEEE Project 802 committee. We adopted the name as it was closely aligned with our core business.
We kept the name when we resurrected the company in 2009 because our business is primarily about ‘networking’, albeit a slightly different sense.
